Music Fest, now the Turkey Trot Festival, has always been a Musical Shortcut to the Starting Line for Turkey Trot. Instead of fighting registration crowds on race day, sign up on line and then come pick up your number and shirt at Cascades Park and visit our health, fitness and music festival. We will let you sign up in person too if you would rather do that. And registration fees go up after we pack up at Cascades Park.
Turkey Trot Festival at Cascades Park
Cascades Park is going strong now and it brings Tallahassee’s past and its future together in a great park that all residents can enjoy. Great cities have great places to gather and Cascades Park offers that opportunity. We love our home in SouthWood for the Turkey Trot Races and that is not changing. But on Sunday, November 19, Cascades Park will be home to a lot of Turkey Trot fun. Turkey Trot has always been about the Tallahassee community having a chance to gather. So we thought: “Let’s find a way to include Cascades Park in that great tradition.”
Hors d’oeuvre at Cascades Park, Turkey Trot Style
Thanksgiving Day, November 23 this year, is of course the Smorgasbord of choices with four different races and like we just said – that is not going to change. But we are going to serve up some delightful musical hors d’oeuvre at Cascades Park on Sunday, November 19. In addition to being the place to register and pick up your race number, t-shirt and package for the Tallahassee Turkey Trot, Cascades Park will come alive with a Turkey Trot Festival. It will all officially start at 1:30 p.m. with music and continue until 4:30. Jason Taylor of iHeartMedia will be there with his band Old Soul Revival. And Bill McGuire will help Low Country Boyle crank out their tunes. The Edison has promised a coupon for one free drink from the Beer Garden for everyone picking up their packet that day.
Come enjoy the live music and cold refreshments and get into the holiday spirit of giving. Turkey Trot beneficiaries, the Shelter and Refuge House, are welcoming donations of nonperishable food, clothes and toiletry items at the Turkey Trot Festival. Second Harvest will be there to collect food donations. And of course we count on the Stick Patrol to remind everyone what the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Big Bend are about. As an alternative, we encourage you to donate via check to our Turkey Trot Heroes Program. As the Turkey Trot Heroes program becomes an even stronger holiday tradition in Tallahassee, we would very much like to increase the support of these very worthy causes. We believe that sharing with those in difficult or less fortunate circumstances is a wonderful way to give thanks for the many blessings that have been bestowed upon us. Your participation makes that happen! Donate at the registration page.
